A tennis tournament for artists who play at any level, competing for a residency at Casa Axis. The winner is invited to a residency at Casa Axis to reimagine the hard court for the next C.A.I.O edition.
Participation is limited. All players are selected directly by Casa Axis. No portfolios. No explanations.
No categories. No rankings. Just instinct and frustration. Maybe one shot wins it all.

We are delighted to invite you to visit us and experience the tennis tournament and exhibition.
As Casa Axis has a limited capacity, entry will be subject to the available occupancy at any given time. Opening hours will be from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM on both days. We recommend arriving with sufficient time to facilitate your access.
To enter the venue, all visitors will be required to complete a short registration form at the entrance. Please remember to bring your ID card or passport.

For everyone who wasn't selected for the tournament but is still eager to play on the 'Hard Court' by Lucas Benarroch at Casa Axis, you'll have the chance to step onto the court on Sunday morning.
How can I sign up?
Registration will be available on-site from Saturday and throughout Sunday morning. Sign-ups close at 12:00 PM on Sunday.
How does it work?
The format will be a King of the Court competition. Players rotate as they lose, while winners remain on court to defend their position.
Do I need to bring a racket?
No. Rackets and balls will be available for participants thanks to HEAD, the tournament's equipment partner.
Who wins?
Stay on court for as long as possible and keep winning points. At the end of the session, one player will be crowned Open Play Champion and receive a special prize courtesy of Mahou.
C.A.I.O. will also feature an accompanying exhibition dedicated to tennis and its visual culture. Taking place in the Exhibition Space of Casa Axis, just a few meters from the court, the show establishes a direct dialogue between play and display.
The exhibition presents a selection of tennis-related works from the Muñoz Collection, including artists such as David Hockney, Roe Ethridge, João Maria Gusmão & Pedro Paiva, and Lucas Benarroch, among others. Developed in collaboration with Lacoste Heritage, it will also include a curated display of archival material, featuring designs by Robert George, expanding the conversation between sport, image, and history.

Can I come with friends or family?
Yes. Anyone accompanying you will also be required to register at the entrance and present a valid ID.
Can minors attend?
Yes, provided they are accompanied by a responsible adult.
How do I get there?
We strongly recommend arriving by public transportation or taxi/Uber, as parking is limited. There is a direct Metrovalencia connection from Valencia city centre to L'Eliana via Line 2 (Llíria – València Sud). The nearest stop is L'Eliana station, located approximately a 10-minute walk from Casa Axis.

Can I bring food or drinks from outside?
At C.A.I.O., there will be several beverage bars and a food stand available, so there is no need to bring anything from outside.

Please be respectful of the surrounding neighbourhood and the green areas of Casa Axis, helping us preserve and care for the environment throughout the event.
